Suit saver swimmer

How does Suit Saver work?

It is an antioxidant which binds with chlorine and bromine making them inactive.  Technically Suit Saver supplies the electron that is missing in the outer electron ring of  chlorine and bromine atoms to neutralize them so they can no longer damage or harm the fabric of your bathing suit.  It is easier (more attractive) for the active residual chlorine to bind with the electrons supplied by Suit Saver than it is to break bonds in the fabric to bind with compounds in the material.

When should I use Suit Saver?

After each swim day to neutralize chlorine, keep colors bright and preserve fabric. Start using Suit Saver with a new swimsuit and all new UPF/SPF water clothing.  Nothing can revive an old suit… That would be a miracle, but Suit Saver will keep your bathing suit looking and fitting great much longer.  The sooner you get the residual chlorine out of fabric the sooner you arrest the damaging affects of chlorine and bromine.

Will Suit Saver get rid of the chlorine smell, and does it contain fragrance or detergents?

Suit Saver absolutely gets rid of chlorine smell by getting rid of the chlorine.  Therefore no detergents or perfumes to hide chlorine odor are necessary.  Whenever you can still smell chlorine, even on dried clothing or swimwear, the damaging effects are still taking place. Once the chlorine is neutralized there won’t be any lingering chlorine odor.

Suit Saver is soap and detergents free.  You do NOT want to use products with soap or detergents each time you use your suit, only when it becomes necessary because your suit got dirty. Then we recommend Dove Liquid Soap.  Soaps are gentle and are not formulated as harsh as detergents.  Suit Saver removes 99.9 percent of residual chlorine and bromine from your suit after swimming, Guaranteed.

Why doesn’t Suit Saver have soap?

Soaps and detergents can cause wear and fading.  You are trying to prevent that.  You only need a mild soap like Ivory liquid once in awhile if your suit gets dirty.  But you must always get the chlorine and bromine out after swimming to preserve the fabric colors and fit.

How much is a squirt?

Just a quick pinch of the bottle in a sink of regular water. That’s it!  A squirt of Suit Saver is all it takes at the end of the day to save your swimsuit.

Are there really 50 washings in a 2.2oz bottle?

Yes. Suit Saver is a chlorine removing concentrate.  The little bottle that is packed with neutralizing power.  It is easy to take  to the club because it is small and concentrated and it delivers at least 50 washes per bottle.  That makes Suit Saver very economical. Compare that to the competitors.

Does Suit Saver need hot or cold water to work?

Suit Saver works in any water temperature.  We recommend regular cool tap water.

Do large swimsuits need more Suit Saver?

No. Suit Saver is formulated to treat extra-large swimwear. Rinsing more than one large swimsuit at a time would require an additional squirt.  You will know when the chlorine is gone– no chlorine smell.  Also, regardless of the amount of Suit Saver used, you will not harm the suit. Even full concentrate will not harm fabric, it would however be a waste.

Is there an expiration date?

An unopened bottle lasts years. Once open, it will last for at least two years if you replace the cap snugly after each use.  We still have new test bottles dating back to 1992.  They still work just like a new bottle coming off the line.

May I use Suit Saver on other chlorinated items like delicates or a prosthesis, and how much should I use?

Yes. Use a squirt for each large sized item you used in chlorinated water.  Figure about one squirt per item that is equivalent to a large swimsuit.

Is there anything I should not use Suit Saver on?

Yes.  Do not use Suit Saver on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) prosthesis.  Most do not use PVC,  but the flesh colored plastic of artificial limbs should be verified not to contain PVC.  Call the prosthesis manufacturer to be certain.

I have some allergies.  Anything in Suit Saver that I should know about?

Sulfites if allergic to them.  Suit Saver contains only “food grade” components.  They cost more, but must meet a high level of purity, that is why we use only “food grade”.  If you are allergic to sulfites you would know it because  sulfites are found in many food products including red wines, beer, dried fruits, baked goods, condiments,  sometimes seafood, shrimp, and many other products.  Even though you are not consuming Suit Saver, those with allergies to sulfites should avoid it.

How should I dry my bathing suit?

Do not put swimwear in a washer or dryer.  Bathing suits, sun protective bathing shirts, sun protective bathing tights and caps do not belong in a washing machine.  Rinse sun protective wear in Suit Saver as with a bathing suit then squeeze out excess water (never wring out) and lay item flat on a towel and dry away from the sun.

Mat I use Suit Saver on UPF or SPF rated clothing or skins like rash guards after swimming?

Yes.  It is important not to wash these thin dense modern fabrics in the washing machine.  That will soon make them all stretched out and baggy.  Use Suit Saver as for swimwear, rinse, squeeze out and dry in the shade or between a towel.  Do not machine dry or dry on a hanger — it will stretch the fabric.

Why do they put chlorine in pools and spas?

Disinfection. Basically to kill germs, bacteria, virus and microbes.  The drawback of using chlorine in swimming pools is the chlorine reacts with modern fabrics used to make swimwear.

What about home remedies to remove chlorine, do they work?

Not very well to not at all.  Vinegar does NOT neutralize  chlorine in swimwear.  That is an old wife’s tale at best, and a hoax at worst.  The idea is being promoted by people who have no knowledge of the residual chlorine species that form in water.

There are numerous “species” of chlorine and bromine that form in pools and spas depending upon the type water (100% fresh, brackish, well, salt, temperature range and the impurities present). That requires a targeted product.  Any amount of left-over residual chlorine damages fabric even as it drys. You must to get it all out.  Suit Saver is formulated so it targets all forms of residual chlorine and bromine.  That is why we can guarantee 99.9% residual chlorine removal with Suit Saver.  No one else does that.  If you want to care for your swimwear you might as well do it right.  After all, the physical effort is always way less when you use the correct tools.  In this case it is Suit Saver.

Do you test on animals?

No testing on animals.

May I mix Suit Saver in my shampoo or body wash?

No.  Use only as described on the Suit Saver back label.
